1qwkdsm Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Hi all. I have a quick question. I have been reviewing the new A10C beta released by ED and am finally ready to pull the trigger on buying. My question is however, when I pay for the game on the ED website, will I receive the key via email or will I have to wait for something to ship? Thanks in advance!
MTFDarkEagle Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Hi and welcome to this community! You receive a serial-key via e-mail, and you can also see your serial at your payments on the dcs website. Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
1qwkdsm Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Hi, thanks for the fast reply! Proceeding to payment site now... :)
Yellonet Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Once you pay you will be directed to a web page containing your serial key. Then you can just download and install the sim. i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
1qwkdsm Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Sounds easy enough however I keep getting this error: Sage Pay Server returned a Status of FAIL Sage Pay returned an ERROR status. The description of the error was "Operation timed out with 0 out of -1 bytes received" Oh well guess I will keep trying...
EtherealN Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 To be on the safe side, do check your card statement if you have an internet banking account. There have been cases where a failed transaction still results in a shadowing of funds on the account - if this happens, it is nothing to be alarmed about. A shadowing is basically a reservation in anticipation of a claim from the merchant (ED), but if the transaction fails then ED's own systems are never informed about the transaction taking place and the funds end up in limbo for a period of time. How long the shadow in such a case exists before it times out might vary, but should be just a few bank days after which the shadow ceases. But religious spamming of the button might end up with an inconvenient amount of money being "shadowed". (It happened to me once with booking a hotel, and suddenly my account looked as if it was WAY overdrawn, causing me a great deal of nervousness until I figured out what had happened. :P ) Just as a pre-emptive strike since sometimes such a shadow actually looks as if money was withdrawn on an account statement, which can cause unecessary alarm. :) I'd probably say you should wait an hour or until the next day, in case there is some issue with the relevant connections.
