And I always hear about how they were designed to operate from poor airfields....sooooo, How about making a few crappy dirt airfields cut out from the trees with oil drum fires for lights at night for us to operate them from! I know there are portable ILS systems, but you can skip that....I want a CRAPPY airfield lol. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

AStotzer Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I think I remember one of Ironhand's A10 Tutorials (I think it was the Anti-Ship one) where he shot at the ships and after 2 enemy aircraft crashed, he landed at a dirt airstrip. If I remember correctly, I think there was a dirt runway, and maybe a tent and a truck? Not sure if he made it, or if it was just there. My memory may be wrong too.
juan_mol Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Well now with the AFM for the su-25 and 25T you can land anywhere (the other planes explode the instant any part of them touches the ground :rolleyes: ). So in theory you could look for a flat piece of land, place some objects and vehicles and have the player land there. If you do it carefully enough it is easy to land the 25T on the dirt. If I remember right some time ago someone made a mod that put some targeting circles on the ground at several places (they were 3 or 4 concentric circles placed on the ground to simulate bombing practice ranges) so you could make a dirt landing strip, place it on the map and the populate the area with vehicles and trees (another mod).
