scouter Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 This is happening after yesterday clean installation. It worked yesterday pretty well. Today I changed the resolution setting then it keeps CTD after showing "BlackShark has stopped working" message. I wonder any change in the cockpit texture size could cause this.:joystick: Here is my crash dump files. Temp.zip
speed-of-heat Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Today I changed the resolution setting then it keeps CTD after showing "BlackShark has stopped working" message. Are you running Windows Vista/7 and tryimg to use more than one monitor ? How did you change the resolution? did you edit a LUA file? If so what application did you use to edit it ? What resolution did you change it to ? What happens if you change the resolution back? 1 SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
scouter Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Are you running Windows Vista/7 and tryimg to use more than one monitor ? Win 7 x64 with 2 monitors but there is no way to use both in DSC: BS, so I used the primary monitor. How did you change the resolution? : It was using 1280 x 800 in window mode then changed it to fullscreen 1080p mode as my primary monitor supports did you edit a LUA file? : No If so what application did you use to edit it ? What resolution did you change it to ? 1024, 1600, and 1080p modes; I tried to find which one causes the error. What happens if you change the resolution back?: It keeps showing the same error. :smilewink:
speed-of-heat Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 (edited) Are you running Windows Vista/7 and tryimg to use more than one monitor ? Win 7 x64 with 2 monitors but there is no way to use both in DSC: BS, so I used the primary monitor. Actually there are many ways to use the additional monitor; just not in full screen mode How did you change the resolution? : It was using 1280 x 800 in window mode then changed it to fullscreen 1080p mode as my primary monitor supports Try droping fullscreen mode see if that helps? Incedentally my secondary Monitor on Windows 7 runs in 1080p What happens if you change the resolution back?: It keeps showing the same error. You may want to try a fresh install Edited December 29, 2010 by speed-of-heat SYSTEM SPECS: Hardware AMD 9800X3D, 64Gb RAM, 4090 FE, Virpil T50CM3 Throttle, WinWIng Orion 2 & F-16EX + MFG Crosswinds V2, Varjo Aero SOFTWARE: Microsoft Windows 11, VoiceAttack & VAICOM PRO YOUTUBE CHANNEL: @speed-of-heat
scouter Posted December 29, 2010 Author Posted December 29, 2010 Try droping fullscreen mode see if that helps? Incedentally my secondary Monitor on Windows 7 runs in 1080p: It didn't help any. That's why I tried many resolution setting. You may want to try a fresh install: How can I do it? I've already done it; uninstall then clean the registry. Do I have to delete some files from "...user\Appdata\local" folder?
speed-of-heat Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 If you have done an Uninstall, that should clean anything else out. That i am aware of in anycase... anyone else have any ideas? speed-of-heat Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 Does it crash when you go into a mission or when the sim initially loads? scouter Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 Does it crash when you go into a mission or when the sim initially loads? Yes, whatever I have done for it, it crashes. Clean installation, no changes in setting since the the clean install, it crashes any how. The mission crashes, the quick flight crashes..and that's what I got. I still wonder I have to format windows....
scouter Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 (edited) The launcher crashes first before the simulator crashes. Even if I didn't do anything after launching and terminate the launcher by clicking 'Exit,' the launcher crashes with this message "The launcher has stopped working."
