czarnyolek Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 How do i remove USAF markings and numbers from F-16? In FC1 there was an option of pasting files Usa-znak-lightgray.tga.dds, Usa-znak-darkgray.tga.dds and nomera.tga.dds with transparent markings but id does not work in FC2. Does anyone know, how to remove them?
Ells228 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 step 1. Extract the bmp files from the cdds catalogue for the F16 skin (use CDDS expolorer that comes with ModMan) step 2. Edit them in photoshop and remove the markings step 3. Either create a mod using ModMan or put the amended files in bazar/temptextures Apologies but I'm not at my pc with LockOn installed so not sure which cdds catalogue the skin files are in. Hope that helps, Ells.
czarnyolek Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Thats the thing. Markings are not on a bitmap with the skin. As you see on a screenshot, i use different bitmap but markings are still there.
Ells228 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 (edited) Ah ok sorry. Well we've done a similar thing in when chosing a skin on our Hawk the markings change based on what skin you select so I only assume it's the same thing here. Try opening the TGA file in photoshop and check the Alpha channel, then just remove anything in that channel (fill black). Re-save the TGA file into temptextures Backup original first obviously. The Alpha channel will show any markings that are being used, so look for the tail number to match the file you need. Edited January 10, 2011 by Ells228
