I stoped creating missions for DCS:BS because I want to wait for the compatibility patch to DCS:WH.

It makes no sense to create complex missions you have to rework once the patch is out.

Start with finding a good location. Many roads, view rivers, view bridges, some villages... maybe a canyon...

Then ask your selfe what would be a good szenario for this location.

In my point of view this part is the hardest part of building missions.

After you know the location and the szenario you only have to add the units, enemys and frientlys. Therefore you have to have a feeling about the difficulty level of the mission. What SAMs? Will they laser/warn me or simply shoot me down? Maybe you have to mark there positions in the ABRIS and write about the SAM-threats in the Briefing.

How many Tanks? How many Vikhr do I need for all this Tanks? Do I have to rearm? How many times? Is there a FARP to rearm, so I don't have to fly the whole way back?

This all are things you become clear by creating and testing the mission.

If you need some triggers, feel free to ask me. (But please be considerate of my english)

I stopped making missions because I'm making missions for A-10C. It has a vastly superior mission editor, and much of my mission logic has transformed into .lua scripts rather than triggers. When I think about my days making DCS: BS missions... compared to the abilities of the A-10C mission editor, the DCS: BS mission editor is simply archaic.

I did recently release (in December) my last Ka-50 only mission, a multiplayer one which I consider to be the best or one of the best and most fun KA-50 missions I have flown ("Sink the SAGs" is the name). But it's hard, requiring precise flying and seldom-used weapons skills, so you have to practice it a bit just to fly it... not something that can be put up on a dedicated server, for sure, but something a squad would fly amongst themselves (which we did). I plan to remake it when/if A-10C and Black Shark are integrated. It shouldn't be to hard to make it, as most of the 1000+ triggers (I lost count...) in it can be replaced by 50 lines of .lua (THANK GOD FOR LUA).

I agree... it's the hardest part, but not the most time consuming. It usually takes me a few weeks from conception to finish to make a mission, and I have many abortive attempts that don't get very far.

I've only been starting to do some missions in BS, and finding it fairly easy.

I'm starting to do up a little campaign I'll see how it goes before I release anything.

but overall quite good

Are you going to release that campaign at some point, BTW? Been flying the Hog lately, but will most certainly fire up the Shark too again in the future - and new campaigns are always awesome :)

I've been making small missions since I got back into Black Shark. Most are based on hunting insurgents. As someone else has said...there is a patch coming out. I'm waiting as well to see how I have to fix the missions I've created. Once that is done...and I fix and update those missions...I'll release them to the community.

Yah, waiting for the patch myself too before taking up the Shark again - getting to grips with the Hog in the meantime. But always nice to see folks still doing missions for the Kamov as well - and yours, if I understood correctly, will actually put the whirlybird into a realistic context against bushwar opponents and soft targets. Will defo get them when released. Salud and thanks in advance!

Eh... there must be something I've totally forgotten here, because I have to admit I'm not following you at all :0 Has this something to do with the (pretty stoopid IMO) missions I myself made and published a while ago?

There is a gentleman I meet online every week or so that helps me test my missions I'm making. He gives me good feedback as to how the mission feels to someone who does not know what all is in them. I thought you knew him and he was telling you about those missions...and how good they are...:)
