Rubycat Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Is there a way for us non track ir users to get my Hat switch (whihc controls my cockpit look) to snap to the side i want to look through then come back to center once i let go? the smooth movement is not at all helping with the HAT.
ZoomBoy27 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 KEYPAD_ZERO mapped with another KEYPAD_### is the way it's done Without a Hat-switch ZoomBoy My Flight Sims Page - Link to My Blog - Sims and Things - DCS Stuff++ - Up-to-Speed Guides to the old Lockon A10A and Su-25T - Some missions [needs update]
Kula66 Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 On a similar subject, is there a key combination for close up look at 15s radar display ... you have to look REALLY close to tell friend from foe in TWS! Preferrably something that doesn't use keypad ... since I've got a laptop! UPDATE: Not to worry, programmed the HOTAS - Foxy is just great!
Joe Posted June 16, 2005 Posted June 16, 2005 Is there an internal padlock view? Yes. I can't remember the keypress, but you can find it in keycommands.doc in your \docs folder. SimHQ Technology Editor TSH member
Joe Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 OK, here's the good stuff. Rubycat: Traditional snap views are CTRL plus numpad keys. These can be programmed to your joystick Hat. I use them, and prefer to toggle on "discrete steps mode". This is done by pressing ALT+z at the beggining of a mission, and lets you step through the views any way you want, but will not automatically return to center. It is simple enough to do by stepping back the the other way or recentering, though. In most sims, I have a joystick button that returns me to "cockpit view" (aka F1). In Lock On, though, if your view is off somewhere or you are padlocked, pressing F1 does nothing. So, in Lock On, I have that same joystick button programmed to press F1, break the padlock (I have this programmed to x), and recenter the view (numpad 5), all at the same time. ouija: Padlock is engaged by pressing numpad DELETE by default. Weta43 Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Like he said - just map them in the controls screen to your hat switch & hold the CTRL key down. Cheers.
