BKLronin Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I found some code accidentally when I searched for Hotas options and those lines led me to the pure supposition that the AI can´t see though trees when enabled. visual_detection = { terrain_LOS_test = true, Earth_curvature_LOS_test = true, objects_LOS_test = false, clouds_LOS_test = false, trees_LOS_test = false, Does anyone has information about that? I remembered that we had some problems in Blackshark with AI Trees and LOS. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
PhoenixBvo Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I would be VERY surprised if that worked. I mean happy surprised of course but... We were told this problem is not easily solved and requires a major 3D engine overhaul, so I think it's just there for future compatibility. Sorry for being pessimistic. I can't test it right now, maybe someone can confirm/disclaim by flight test? BKLronin Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 I´m not sure but I think the overhaul was basically needed for the collidability of the trees. Not sure if it was for the LOS. Would be a huge step forward especially for Heli Pilots. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
