I was curious about this and a few other details.

 

(not to hijack my own thread but...)

 

2) Why does night/day switch seem to change color, but the "color" switch seem to have little influence on the text on the HUD?

 

3) Is there any scenario in which I WOULDN'T want "BOTH" lasers switched on for my TGP?

 

4) Anti-collision lights seem temperamental--as if it this switch is only switchable under certain conditions. These remain a mystery to me.

1)Air to Air would be a good time not to use PAC

2)Which colour switch?

3)No none that I can think of, unless the enemy has NVGs and can see you targeting something.

4)Anti collision lights only operate when the pinkie switch is set to AFT (IIRC) if the pinkie switch is in another position the Anti Collision light switch back to off, automatically.

4) also switches off when you change power source, ie when you get engine generator power on start up.

Another occasion not to use PAC is when you have a column of vehicles below and you want/need to steer to get them all.

With PAC on, the aircraft stays steady on course and doesn't allow much maneuvering.

strafing a column of moving vehicles would be good.

Since i don't have a two stage trigger, i use two separate buttons, and I remember from previews betas that if in air2air mode, when shooting without the PAC stage, the plane will pitch up. But if i used the two stage i could fire the canon on air2air mode with stability, like air2air in FC2.

 

But i just tried again now on beta 4 and the plane pitch up anyway. Makes shooting distant air targets much more difficult.

 

Is that correct?
