You can only Hook icons on the TAD then set them as SPI with TMS UP LONG. You can't just select any point on the TAD, only the icons.

EDIT:- The SPI OFF/ON on the TAD relates to your SPI being Broadcast over the datalink only.

Thx, i will try

True, but to further this you can put an icon at any point on the TAD.

-Make the TAD the SOI

-Set the CDU STEER PT selector to Mark (or do it on the UFC)

-Slew the cursor on the TAD where you want to designate an SPI

-Click TMS Right Short to create a mark point.

-Then hook this as per Nate's post.

Good to know, I had no idea that was possible.

I just learned this recently as well. I, like the OP, was trying to make it SPI then mark it from the TAD, instead of the other way around. I'm in the habit of always setting SPI before a mark when SOI is TGP.

I was actually slewing my TAD cursor to get coords then manually entering them into the CDU for waypoints.. ha. I'm glad I revisited the CDU. The deeper I go the more the mystery unfolds and the easier it gets.

It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
