Kenan Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 In the Profiles section I can choose Ripple Type (Rpl Sgl, Rpl Prs) but under the quantity I can't enter anything (by clickin the left OSD button). What am I doing wrong? Thanks. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Commanding Officer of: 2nd Company 1st financial guard battalion "Mrcine" See our squads here and our . Croatian radio chat for DCS World
Bubb Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Punch the quantity in either the UFC or the CDU and then hit the OSB next to QTY. It should punch that number in. After that click Save and continue as planned.
EtherealN Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Type the number on UFC before pressing the OSD. So to ripple single 4, select ripple single on the MFCD, then press 4 on the UFC, then press quantity. If this doesn't work, ensure you do not have an input error displayed on either the bottom of the HUD or on the CDU. If you do, press CLR and re-do the procedure. sobek Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 You have to enter a value in the scratchpad with the UFC or CDU keypad first. Plz see the DSMS Training mission for the specifics. Edit: double sniped, oh the contumeliousness. :) Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!
EtherealN Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 This can be a bit counter-intuitive if you don't have your mind around the logic of how the system operates. On a normal computer, we for example press a text field and then enter the text or numbers we want in there. But since the CDU basically works as a central input method for a lot of networked components, what happens is that you first feed the data you want the CDU to hold, and you then press the function that should ask the CDU for data. So in this case, you might be telling the CDU to "please remember the number 4", and then you find the system you need and click the button, whereat it asks the CDU over the network "hey, what number you got?". This is a central theme for most of the things that you do with data management in the Hog office, so it's nice to try to get that intuitively.
