JaseGill Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Hi guys, I was just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the gun on sloping terrain? Its probably something stupid that Im doing but trying to aim the gun on sloping terrain, such as at the infantry advancing on Camp Yankee in the Defend Camp Yankee Mission, my rounds go all over the place. Sometime short, sometimes long. Am I dong something stupid? WarriorX Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Try using your TGP to lase the ground next to the troops and then create a Mark Point with the TMS Right Short. You will have created Mark Point A Then switch your Steerpoint Dial on your AAP (Auxiliary Avionics Panel pg 169 in manual) from flight plan to Mark. Now check your CDU and use the Steerpoint toggle on the UFC to bring up Mark A as your active steerpoint. This accurate elevation data you created with the laser for the mark point will provide the computer in the A10C the correct slant range and pipper placement on the targets you want to engage. Eddie Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 As above, or switch the ground height source to the DTS or in a pinch, use one of the manual gunsight options.
JaseGill Posted February 27, 2011 Author Posted February 27, 2011 Warrior/Eddie, Thanks. Much appreciated. They'll both work I guess, but Eddie's will be a little less bother with multiple targets. Off to the sim to try both. I've used manual sight but I guess I need more practice. Thanks again Guys.
