Conure Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Hey all :D three quick questions that I can't get an answer to! I've already asked a bit about landing, as all I currently do is take off and land...Annnyway.. when I start up, EAC wont turn on sometimes, for quite a while...The switch flicks and flicks back to the initial position automatically. This also seems to happen with lights during the startup sequence..Sometimes Anti collision just wont turn on... Finally, from what sort of distance do most of you begin final approach? If I post a track of a quick flight with me starting up, taking off, flying a circle and landing, please could some of you give me some pointers on improving? Thanks! Stretch Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Your answers to the first two are in the FAQ; I recommend reading it before asking a question on the forums. 1 Tim "Stretch" Morgan 72nd VFW, 617th VFS Other handles: Strikeout (72nd VFW, 15th MEU Realism Unit), RISCfuture (BMS forums) PC and Peripherals: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/RISCfuture/saved/#view=DMp6XL Win10 x64 — BMS — DCS — P3D

Conure Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Thanks all - Makes sense...I was confused as I thought the egi was already aligned...Must have been mistaken! Conure Posted March 4, 2011 Author Posted March 4, 2011 Sorry all, another potentially stupid question.. I'm reading in the manual about TACAN, and something I've never got with civ/military jets is VOR/TACAN...GPS/CDU Divert seems like a much much easier way to get to where youre going...Is it just a backup system? Stretch Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 VOR/TACAN is still a primary means of navigation for many instrument approaches, but that's about it. People mostly use GPS to get around and find things nowadays.
