My suggestion would be to take a spare HDD and load it with XP or use an older computer with XP on it and see if it works with the older OS.

If it doesn't, then the touchscreen interface or the USB interface for the touchscreen is bad.

i really like elo i have a e1545l and last time I looked they have win 7 drivers. If you call them like I did because i was confused about something with the drivers and got a very helpfull woman on the phone with a nice voice. try it. i am using one with win 7 32 bit for a jukebox. Im looking forward to using the second I got for helios or something on a new win 7 64 bit system someday. So I hope you get your answer.

Are you using a usb to seriel cable too. Or are you using serial to serial? Thats what makes the touch part work.

I use a couple of these with one on win 7 64 bit. I have no problem. I have the 1545 seriel versions. Using a tripplite usb to seriel connection. Win 7 loads the driver for that no problem.

The website has the universal driver at the top of that page. Some seriel adaptors can have poor drivers and cause problems.

i see there are a bunch on ebay for cheap! This is what mine look like. He has 24 for sale.
