Unfortunately, file "WPP_DARK.bmp", wich is the most detailed (and hard to design) part of the runway, is absent in FC2.

 

Below, two images. Runway files in FC1 and FC2. Runway XA and NE.

As you can see, ED removed file "WPP_DARK.bmp" in FC2.

 

I really don't know why ED did this. It was a bad choice. In this specific case, t's like walking backwards - how come ED removes an important texture file in FC2?

(Please correct me if I'm wrong - maybe they have replaced "WPP_DARK.bmp" for another file, but I don't think so.)

So, if you use my runway mod in FC2, you won't have the coolest, most detailed part - rubber tyre marks, kuznetsov deck for navy runways, etc.

I really feel sorry for that.

It was so hard to design this texture, and in the end, ED does not use it anymore. What a bad luck..

 

Plus, runway numerals from my mod "nomera_hd" also won't work in FC2. I don't know if ED changed or replaced nomera.tga.

 

I don't have FC2 to test it.

I also noticed this, I modified it slightly, I used a file from the Ancient Runway Textures, but still, the threshold and runway don't connect right...I'm hoping that the runways are better on a-10...I didn't get a-10 yet, I plan to once I receive my new system...

Airfields new to A-10C have improved textures, previous ones from Black Shark and FC2 use the same textures they do now.
