Hello Everyone. Is anyone else out there pulling the wings off of the airplane on a regular basis? I've experimented with control axis tuning until I'm blue in the face. I'm not doing any radical flying just simple 3-4 G pulls off the target on strafe and bomb passes. The problem I can't solve is that after about three quarters stick throw I get a spike in elevator deflection and the wings come off. This isn't a bug. The real wings would come off the real airplane at the gross weights I'm flying if I went from 4 to 7 G's instantly. It's the curve in the axis tuner. In a real airplane the stick is supposed to get harder to pull the further you pull preventing you from tearing off the wings. The problem is that sitting here at my desk at one G with a simple spring loaded joystick with no aerodynamic forces acting on it through SAS, hydraulics and liknages I have to work backwards. So if anyone out there has discovered the perfect curve that gives them both excellent precise pitch control and helps keep the wings on I'd appreciate the info. Thanks ED for the axis tune. It's a blast to play with even if I am struggling with it. Kinda like being a test pilot!!!

Q: Why are my controls too sensitive?

A: The default axis settings for the stick and be a bit touchy for some. If you feel this is the case or you. we suggest:

1- Select Options from Main Menu

2- Select Controls tab

3- From Category drop down list, select Axis Commands

4- Select Pitch for JOY Y and then press Axis Tune button

5- Set JOY Y Deadzone to 10 and Curvature to 30

6- Press Ok button

4- Select Roll for JOY X and then press Axis Tune button

5- Set JOY X Deadzone to 10 and Curvature to 30

6- Press Ok button

7- Press Ok button at bottom of screen to save changes.

I use a deadzone of 0 and a curvature of 23 for both pitch and roll on my HOTAS Warthog. Accuracy is amazing for me but your miliage may vary, depending on your HOTAS. I've never ripped the wings off my A10 via Over-G. Are the pots in your stick spiking? Check your joystick calibration utility to see. Also make sure you don't have any axis double-bound in the controls editor.

Hope this helps,

Mack

Pots=potentiometer or variable resistor.
