Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I am a prospect user. I love accuracy in the very first place, and although not at all interested in military sims I am seriously considering buying LOMAC and the Flaming Cliffs add-on because I know it is very accurate in terms of physics modelling. I have 2 questions: 1) How's weather modelled in LOMAC FC ? Appart from the cloud layers, can turbulence and/or variable and gusting winds be experienced? How's landing in a crosswind sit? Does rain/snow influence the physical characteristics of the rw, making it more slippy et al...? 2) Do I have to by LOMAC first or is LOMAC FC self-contained? Thx in advance for any answers! Cobra360 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Yes turbulence can be set for different altitudes, no gusting winds but there is wind. And crosswind landings in the Su-25T have to be one of the best things ever. Hard but rewarding. You need LOMAC installed first and then just add FC. You need to keep the FC CD in the drive as you play.
Witchking Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 1) weather model is actually pretty good in the game...however there is room for improvement. for instance.. you set rain, then it is going to rain all through the mission...i mean, the rain does not stop or something...so its kinda static. but on the other hand there are quite a nifty few features in the system. You can have ground level fog and mist which make it a challege to spot ground units...something which forces you to use your rwr if you do not want to be fried. lightning, light beams in between clouds... snow etc... quite a few nice touches. I have not yet landed in crosswind or rain...but i heard that crosswind landings are a real fun in Su-25t wiht the afm. its a real challenge. 2) yeah! you need lomac to use lo:FC. Anatoli-Kagari9 Posted July 6, 2005 Author Posted July 6, 2005 Well, thank you both for your replies. I am sure I'm going to have it on my HD real soon now. It only costs €14,40 here in Portugal now, and the FC add-on will soon be available on the shelves... After installing Lock-On, where can I download the patches from, while I do not get FC? Flight Simulation is the Virtual Materialization of a Dream...
Cobra360 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 http://www.lo-mac.com/updates.php Download the 1.00 to 1.02 patch. Don't bother with the other ones. FC can only be installed over a clean Lockon installation or one patched to version 1.02 Do not go near the 1.01 patch and everything will work Ok.

FC can be installed over any Lock-on version(V1.00, V1.01 or V1.02) and any localised version (French, German, Spanish). However, the recommeded FC installation procedure is to make a clean install from Lock-on CD(V1.00), and then apply the V1.1 "Flaming Cliffs" installation directly to this. Please consult the "Installation & Trouble shooting" sticky thread here for the full installation recommedations and tips.....we put it there for a reason ;) - JJ. JJ
