connos Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I started playing the training mission gun and rockets but I have an issue. The autopilot can not be engage, pressing the button does nothing and also the gun trigger fist stage doesn't work. Any one know what is causing this? ilikepie Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 there are certain parameters that need to be met to engage AP, you oitch angle must be correct, no more that +/- 5 degrees and your airspeed must be above a certain limit. is the PAC switch engaged? Action After Contemplation
connos Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 there are certain parameters that need to be met to engage AP, you oitch angle must be correct, no more that +/- 5 degrees and your airspeed must be above a certain limit. is the PAC switch engaged? Yes PAC is on. I follow the instructions in the training but when the trainee says that he will engage the autopilot it doesn't engage. Trying manually still doesn't engage. I don't hear the sound you usually hear when you engage the Autopilot either. EvilBivol-1 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 Perhaps your cockpit switches are being set differently than default at mission start, because you have the "Sync cockpit controls" option checked in Options/Misc? - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. egorter Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 the engage AP default on the keyboard is "a" Having said that I can't even use it as soon as I let go of the stick the jet noses over to the left. its like the stick centering is messed up and I still can't get the trim to compensate... EvilBivol-1 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 If you are experiencing a nose-down pitching action, it sounds like you may have another controller assigned to your pitch axis. Take a careful look through the Axis Commands in Input Options and make sure each controller is only assigned to what it should be responsible for (i.e. no rudder mapped for pitch up/down). - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. connos Posted March 23, 2011 Author Posted March 23, 2011 Perhaps your cockpit switches are being set differently than default at mission start, because you have the "Sync cockpit controls" option checked in Options/Misc? So is this normal? This option must be enable or disable? EvilBivol-1 Posted March 23, 2011 Posted March 23, 2011 I am not sure if this is the problem in your case, but to be safe it's better if the option is disabled. When enabled, it matches the cockpit swithes to what you have set on the HOTAS, so if you set, for example EAC switch off on the HOTAS (I know you probably didn't), it will turn it off in the cockpit at mission start. To avoid this situation and always start with default cockpit switch states, you should turn OFF "sync cockpit controls" option. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. Did you try this training mission? Can you enable autopilot in this mission with no problems? hesynergy Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Yep, I've got the same AP problem with the first weapons training mission. Trainer says that he's engaged the AP....No Joy....and I tried doing it manually, but NG. Tried setting Alt/Heading....Hey....I've been flying FS since it was a bootable, wireframe program on the original PC....so I know how to engage AP in tons of other planes. I am hearing that there IS an envelope that must be satisfied, 5 degrees from level and over 200 Kts..but my Logitech Wingman Force feedback stick is having a heck of a time trying to even fly level...and I used MS Calibrate routine just before flying....I WILL try to satisfy the envelope, and report back....wonder how this is gonna be an issue when I get my Tmaster Warthog Hotas next week. Regards to All, Chas
