S7_Viper Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 I want to force my mission to use the non-simple radio system. Right now I see all the airfields and Ground control on the list, I want the player to have to set the radio to the correct channel... Can someone tell me what I have missed in the manual?
SmokeyTheLung Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 you will always see the various options, but without tuning your radio they will not respond System specifications: Computer, joystick, DCS world, Beer
S7_Viper Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 I beg to differ. I can communicate with tower for startup no matter what freq I am set to. I can even talk to the ground crew without having to manipulate the intercom buttons. The radio is in simple mode...
=Panther= Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Turn off the simple radio option in the mission editor options. S7_Viper Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 I see that option for me personally, in "my" options, but where is it in the ME?
mia389 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Under mission options. I think its a check mark. Once in that menu check the box on the left to enforce it in the mission. Then leave the box on right (think its value) unchecked. If box on right it checked it forces clients to use simple radios. If box on right in unchecked it forces them to not use simple radios. If box on left (enforce) is unchecked they can use their own settings.
nomdeplume Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 This particular option doesn't exist in the mission options, but in any event the 'use these options for all missions' checkbox on the main game options page will override mission-specific settings. i.e. the player can always choose to play a mission using whatever options they wish. Which IMHO is how it should be. If a particular option will ruin the feel of a mission, then you should state that in the briefing. Players are then free to ignore your advice, but will know they only have themselves to blame if the mission is too easy or whatever.
S7_Viper Posted April 3, 2011 Author Posted April 3, 2011 Alright, but I just started playing a mission I got here last night, and I am forced to use the radio correctly. I went into the ME for that mission, and I still don't see how he is forcing me to use it properly. I think the mission is Separatist Aggression.
mia389 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Radio assist is the only thing with the radio you can enforce. This makes the client have to tune the radio. The option on the radio menu will be greyed out if not tuned
StrongHarm Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 GUI Manual pg28 Radio Assist - When enabled, you will get audio alerts informing you of incoming missiles, when you are within valid weapon use parameters, and information on the location of enemy units. The best way to lock out simple radio is to: -Goto Mission Options -Check "Game Avionics Mode" -Make sure the checkbox for "Value" next to "Game Avionics Mode" is clear (this says lock out) It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
mia389 Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Oh, my bad. I totally had that wrong. Thanks StrongHarm. So its the game avionics mode in my picture doing it for me. Thanks for schooling me
StrongHarm Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 I try not to school people.. unless it's about RTFM :) I prefer to call it serving.
