justinm11 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Hey everyone, I just bought the sim and have been having a blast (Literally) I did a quick search and found excellent set of airport diagrams. but I also see that no one has done any approach plates for the sim, due to a lack of corelation between IRL and the sim. Does the sim have any active NDB's or such that can be used for full procedure approaches? Using those charts that were shown in this post http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=64700&highlight=approach+charts it should be possible to conduct full procedure approaches and use the NDB tracks to put you right down the pipe. How do you guys do it? (I'm a real world canadian IFR pilot so I understand the lingo, even though I've never seen those types of approach charts, I think I've figured them out.) Thanks in advance guys, and thanks to DCS for making such an awesome sim!
AlphaOneSix Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 One of the users here made up some approach plates that are, quite frankly, awesome. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=60370
effte Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 But the WGS coordinates of the NDBs are published, so punch those in as a steerpoint and use steerpoint mode on the HSI as a faux ADF. Service volumes were fixed in the final release, so published procedures are now possible. ----- Introduction to UTM/MGRS - Trying to get your head around what trim is, how it works and how to use it? - DCS helos vs the real world.
