FARPs (Forward Arming and Refueling Point) are typically only associated with helicopters. And in the real world, if an airplane lands at a base they typically end their sortie and have new weapons hung while planning is going on for the next.

Thats not to say the idea changing armament in-game isn't a bad idea. Would actually be pretty useful.

Don't you think that the SU25T tacticaly is just a fast attack helicopter that can't hover ? (which will be remedied in 1.2) The SU25 - & I assume the SU25T is made to operate off unimproved strips (carry its own spares, fuel pumps etc.) - & use FARPs I guess. Fly 30km back from the front (?), land re-arm - then you wouldn't have to fly at 98% max load with every available option hanging off your wings. 1st round trip SEAD, 2nd armour, 3rd attack the comms center, 4th napalm the whole place to a cinder... ( & get shot down by the avenger that just drove into the valley..)

Cheers.

That's like saying that the A-10 is a fast attack heli that can't hover :P

You don't operate your aircraft out of anything but a good airfield unless you're willing to pay the price for maintainance problems.

1/ True - except the A-10 is a bit better at "being a plane" than the SU25T. As I've read often here the T is a great "stable weapons platform", mainly 'cause with a full load if it's not stable it's trying to crash. The ultimate stable platform is a helicopter, which is why I said what I said - but it was supposed to be a bit tongue in cheek.

2/ Also true, but if they didn't mean to ever do it, they wouldn't have made them capable of doing it. Isn't the Su25 capable of running on non standard fuel (sump oil & fish n' chip grease mixed with vodka). Can't be good for it, but you'd do it in a pinch...

Cheers.

I'd do it just for the geek factor ;)

Gasoline and kerosene are recognized 'emergency fuels' for jet aircraft, although leaded avgas will destroy the turbine stators if used continuously (heat and dissimilar metals causes FAST corrosion).

I think I heard somewhere that the Su-25 can run on diesel in a pinch, but dont quote me on it.
