Skarp Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I've been going nuts over the performance of my system the last couple months. aparently only 1 graphics card was operating causing the decrease in performance. I tried updating the drivers but it didn't do anything. after some hours of searching i came accross the drivers that are specificaly made for this system. you need to go to the Alienware website to DL the correct drivers. the drivers off the ATI site will not work. ~Skarp
mingocr83 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 Skarp, I worked for Alienware 3 years, and I supported this system until it was EOL-ed. You can install other drivers on the laptop, you need to edit the config file of the installation executable. This will enable you to use Crossfire. I have to clarify... editing this config file IS NOT MODDING THE DRIVER...that is something else.. that can mess with your VC's. Give it a shot and let me know..
Skarp Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 so i just dl the new driver then dl everything but before installing go into the config file and enable crossfire?
