ErichVon Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 Can the altimeter, at start-up, be set for the altitude of the airbase one starts out from? Important question if doing ILS landing. If so, How? Erich :pilotfly:
Laud Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 On the left bottom of the altimeter, there is a rotator to set the pressure/field elevation. Get QFE from Tower by radio or look up the field elevation in the ME. Scratchy Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 To add to the above reply: there's also a switch on the bottom right of the altimeter which has positions Electronic and Barometric (the names are from memory, might be incorrect.) Switching to Barometric uncouples the altimeter from the integrated flight system and thereby could be used as you describe. I think. :music_whistling: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Intel i7-8700K @4.9Ghz | 32Gb memory DDR4 | Evga GTX 1080ti | Saitek Eclipse keyboard | Logitech Mx518 | CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle/Pedales | TIr5 | Win10 x64 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
