Cupra Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 In the next weeks I start to build up my home pit. It's designes as an F-16C pit, but I will have to do nearly all panels etc. new, just the shell is complete. Actual I think that the complete time until I can finish will be about 3 years, so date of finisch should be about 2014. But what would you think? Does it makes sence to built an F-16 pit? Or should I try to get an other plane? Actual I play Falcon 4.0, DCS Ka-50 or A-10 are quite nice but not really that I will play for longer. F/A-18 is told, should be the next in DCS Series.. but maybe in 3 Years we have an new F-16 sim? So, what yould you say would be the best for future? Sov13t Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 I believe with that time frame in mind... and F-16 being closer to your heart, there is a good chance you will not be disappointed by going the F-16 route. Who knows, maybe the next DCS series is the F-16 after all. Gotta remember, F-18C is pure speculation based on some educated guesses people are taking. Best of luck with your build! Sounds like it is going to be quite extensive. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] 51st PVO Regiment | Forum | Statistics DCS: MiG-21Bis
BHawthorne Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) My main suggestion is do an aircraft that there are good interface tie-ins for. Secondly one that you'll enjoy. Everything else is just the fun process of building it. Also, setting some nebulous 3 year date on the project is a bad idea. If you force yourself to always be mindful of not keeping up with some arbitrary timeline you impose upon yourself it'll leach the fun out of the building process. Frankly, once you figure out your design on paper it will go rather fast if you ask the right questions of the right people in the simpit community. Edited April 19, 2011 by BHawthorne
