kungfoo Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 I really think that marking targets first whenever you're entering an area and you don't get the targets designated is a good way to keep your head above water once the first pass is done and the shit starts to hit the fan. :D Now: How do you guys keep track of what has already been marked and stored into a flight plan, while looking around in the TGP? I found myself twice now accidentally dropping two JDAMs (can basically not happen with other weapons) on a BMP because I marked it twice while orbiting the area. Is there something, apart from very good eyes on the TGP and remembering how the target area looks, that will keep me from marking the thing twice? I figured I might stack the marks up into seperate flight plans by attack method and then go through them once or twice, slaving the TGP and checking that the same target is not marked twice. Still, keeping track is kinda tricky...
Cibit Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Check the cdu page. Duplicate LL co-ords would be the only way to check I think i5 8600k@5.2Ghz, Asus Prime A Z370, 32Gb DDR4 3000, GTX1080 SC, Oculus Rift CV1, Modded TM Warthog Modded X52 Collective, Jetseat, W10 Pro 64 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Adding JTAC Guide //My Vid's//229th AHB

Still, keeping track is kinda tricky... I don't have too much experience in marking points on a mission, but from the times I have done it I can definitely see where you are coming from. I played one last night on the 74th VFS server and marked several different vehicle locations by a waypoint. Forgetting which ones I marked was not a problem for me since I was able to remember the 5 different marks I did. So to answer your question I guess it is mostly memory. Maybe write down what targets you have at each mark point? EDIT: Cibit posted while I was typing. Ill have to check that out myself. StrongHarm Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 If you chinahat aft long, it slaves all to your steerpoint. If you then select Marks on your AAP and page through your markpoints, your TGP will slew to each markpoint as you page through, with no other action. You can view your TGP while paging through to see the markpoints position. It's a good thing that this is Early Access and we've all volunteered to help test and enhance this work in progress... despite the frustrations inherent in the task with even the simplest of software... otherwise people might not understand that this incredibly complex unfinished module is unfinished. /light-hearted sarcasm
