May 8, 2011 - Twelve hours before the Red Square was to be filled with servicemen, veterans and tourists - nearly eighty virtual pilots took to the sky in Flaming Cliffs 2. What has become a tradition, a virtual air parade that takes place every year, the Virtual Victory Day Parade in twenty-eleven proved to be spectacular, demanding and at the end of the day extremely satisfying. This year, our regiment the 51st PVO, the "Bisons", decided to take part and really challenge our birds, pilots and crew to fly among the best aerobatic and military squads in this event. While shooting down those pesky Eagles and protecting the motherland from any airborne threat has become second nature to us, flying in tight formations with the added pressure of not letting down our name and what we stand for - deepened our respect for all of the individuals that spend days on end practicing and preparing such visually appealing events like this one, VFAT and others.

We wanted to thank all of the pilots, squads and viewers who participated and watched this event. Special thanks to UVAF MAD MAX for organizing this event, no easy feat. We hope to see more community uniting events like this occur within our small virtual pilot world.

Pictures coming soon...

Keep in mind, due to the fact that there was no experienced cameraman available, a member of UVAF reserve pilots stepped up and did the job.

51st was flying the A-50 with 4 Flankers in escort. 'Papa Bear' was driven by X-Man :smilewink:

Berkuts put on a jaw dropping show... as always! Hopefully Frazer/Sawa will post some screens/vids of this event as well.
