cichlidfan Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 One other thing about the T Flight. I think it has some limited programability but I would just ignore it. The contol setup within A-10 is quite capable. Also, you may want to adjust the sticks response curves a bit. There is good info on that in the FAQ sticky. ComradeLucifer Posted May 13, 2011 Author Posted May 13, 2011 Hey guys, found this free facetracknoir so I think I'm set for a tracker for now. I just finished dling A-10C (thanks for the info btw) but I'm a little intimidated at setting up the controls; does anyone have any tips for setting up this particular stick?
cichlidfan Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Hey guys, found this free facetracknoir so I think I'm set for a tracker for now. I just finished dling A-10C (thanks for the info btw) but I'm a little intimidated at setting up the controls; does anyone have any tips for setting up this particular stick? Two things. First print out pages 84-90 in the Flight Manual (its in the Docs directory under your install directory). Those are the functions that everyone is concerned about getting onto the stick. You can see why more hats is useful. Since you only have one, as I said before, you will need to be creative. Second thing, I found the post I was looking for about doing that. Keep in mind, I have never tried this but putting out for you to see: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1122264&postcount=15 This should give you a starting place anyway. Helios Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Looks like its gonna be AC-10, I really like the systems and avionics stuff, and really want to be able to sink my teeth into a high quality sim. Plus the graphics look better the general consensus on here seems to be leaning toward AC-10. Is there anything important I should know regarding configuring the Thrustmaster once the game is downloaded (gonna get it through steam)? Congratulations, you'll be having plenty fun :-) I would suggest - while having looked at the real HOTAS charts - just (re)programming the HOTAS as you go along through training missions etc, you'll notice some real-life HOTAS commands you will be doing all the time, that you really want to be able to do on the stick. Eventually you find "your" setup. I would consider using the 4-way on the stick for trimming, because that's something at least I end up having to do a lot of minor tweaks as flight parameters change - so it's really nice to have that right there. Or maybe just configure up/down for trimming pitch (needed more often), and use left-right for something else. ComradeLucifer Posted May 14, 2011 Author Posted May 14, 2011 thanks for all your help guys...I really appreciate that control layout you posted for a one hat controller. Looks like I won't have time to check it out tonight due to real life intruding :( but I can't wait to start my training tomorrow. Eventually I hope to acquire the saitek x52 but for now it looks like the Thrustmaster will work just fine escpecially with that configuration asssistance you provided cichlidfan!
