Pyroflash Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 So I was thinking, can ED possibly in the future set up something where the sim would detect the default speakers and default communications speakers as defined in the Windows sounds panel? if so, then maybe we could get radios to pipe in through our headsets instead of our speakers as it is now. It kind of kills the immersion to be wearing a headset and then you hear people speaking over your surround sound. Lastly, it is done this way by default in FSX, so why not in DCS products that are of obviously higher fidelity? If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
Dimebag1 Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 It would certainly add to the immersion, and with the new surround sound engine coming in the latest patch it shows that realistic channeling sound is an interest of ed's. I guess you could specify a certain channel for the headset to be hooked up to, and for those with only 5.1 surround, maybe an option to take one of the channels and dedicate it to headset comms would be nice.
