OK, my system crashed and I'll have to reinstall my OS. Now, I still not sure should I go for Vista again or Win7.

I cannot perform FC2 deactivation before OS reinstall so I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out. There's a couple of questions I'd like to get answers to before proceeding.

I installed FC2 to Vista OS, so if I reinstall same OS what's gonna happen with FC2. Can I reinstall FC2 with same key as before or should I use new key. Can I deactivate FC in order to save keys?

WIN7 - Vista sucks and WIN7 is far better, if I go for it what happens with my FC2 (de)activation options?

Thanks all!

I think the moderators can help with this but with the information you provided, I would say you are going to have to use an activation for FC2 reinstall on Vysta. If you install on Win7 it will also mean a new install as it is a different OS. Now that said anything can happen, you could reinstall Vysta and it could load FC2 without any lose. Seen it happen but that is a rare case. Changing to a new OS will require a new install of FC2. Hope a moderator jumps in here and either corrects my thoughts or agrees that this is what will happen. cheers.

Go Win7, so many improvements - system speed, stability etc :)

As for SF and major changes like renaming - or adding another OS (dual boot) tends to trigger activations IMO.

And if you happened to spend another activation - no big deal.

When you run out, when you spent your last activation, just contact support and you'll get a new batch.

If you have more questions, we'll try to dig up some answers for you.

But I still have my original DCS & FC activations batches - and I do change alot of things on my PC's especially during testing.

IMHO, don't worry Vekkinho - just do it. :)

If you get in trouble, there's plenty of people who will help you.

OK guys thanks for your replies, I managed to reinstall my OS but still haven't installed FC2 'cause I've gotta stress test OS stability to see if it's properly installed. It's Win7 this time so I need some time for tweaking before spending another FC2 key only to find out that OS needs reinstalling....
