Grimes Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Static objects can also be aircraft. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. DutchJackal Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 But how do you park them in the exact places? With 'live' aircraft, you can appoint them to parking spaces. With stationary planes, it seems you can't.
Kaiza Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Trial and error until ED add a sat view unfortunately [SIGPIC]http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/a10161sqnsignitureedite.png[/SIGPIC]
MemphisBelle Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 In the Editor go to Static Objects (The Symbol which looks like a bridge), then select Palnes or Helicopters from the menu which appears on the right side. there are all Airframes or vehicles additionally to the regulat static Objects. DutchJackal Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Trial and error until ED add a sat view unfortunately That's what I've been doing now indeed. One tactic I'm also using is to add a 'live' aircraft on a parking space, then place the static one on the exact same place, select the live one from the unit list and delete it. I was hoping there was a simpler way. 1
Kaiza Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 Thats a good idea. [SIGPIC]http://img856.imageshack.us/img856/2500/a10161sqnsignitureedite.png[/SIGPIC]

I somehow dont get the matter on this: It´s actually easy to place Aircrafts or Helicopters as static Objects on places whereever you want. Here are some screenshots: Select Static Objects from the left menubar (the one which look likes a bridge): In this examples, just a few SU-25´s...all Aircrafts are possible to be set. Then select the Objects what you want to use (Coalition, Category and type) Place them wherever you want, even off the Airfields somewhere in the landscape That´s what you get then: Or DO I understand somethings wrong here? VMFA117_Poko Posted June 18, 2011 Posted June 18, 2011 (edited) Nope. You got it well :). You can even rotate them using heading window or circle on the right menubar of Static Object window. To place the object you need only click on the map where you want to. Then you can also drag it somewhere else and modify its values. Next static object to place will be always the same as before with same settings by default. Edited June 18, 2011 by Poko24

Yes you missed a thing. You're absolutely right that it's easy to place static objects. But... I want to place the static aircraft precisely on a parking spot instead of just somewhere on the airport grounds.
VMFA117_Poko Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 There is a way. Place living aircraft over your airbase, set start from ramp in first waypoint and select a proper number of parking spot - you will see where is that place. Now place static plane exacly on that spot and delete living plane.
