ckinds Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Hi All, I tried hard to search for a solution before bugging the group. Please forgive or point me to the answer if I missed it. After viewing a guy on u-tube play Wings of Prey spread accross three screens I was hooked. Out I went to spend about 3 grand on a new system and a bunch of games. I'm running three new wide screen monitors off of an Ati Radon 6750 card on Win 7. They work fine except for one thing. All my games only show up on the middle monitor. Do I need to buy TripleHeadin order to see a cockpit view spread accross all three screens? Thanks in Advance. Charlie

ckinds Posted June 16, 2011 Author Posted June 16, 2011 Thanks for trying Jim but I'm more lost than before. Do you mean first buy Eyefinity then set something in CCC? I opened CCC but could find nothing and nowhere to set monitors. I searched on multi monitor in this forum. Many threads came back. Do I need to read all postsin every thread? Sorry if I'm being dense
WynnTTr Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 No, you don't need TH2Go anymore. Modern graphics cards allow you to plug in multiple monitors. However for 3+ monitors you need (mind you I'm talking about latest graphics cards) - 1) If you want a single card solution, you need either a 6950, 6970, 6990 or gtx590 - they've got the requisite ports on the one card for you to be able to plug in three monitors. Usually it's 2xDVI (normal monitor port) and the other one you have to get a mini-display port adaptor to DVI converter. Be aware that not all mini-DP adaptors are created equal and don't necessarily support multi monitor setups or don't support it well (you'll see anomalies). Best to do your research when buying one. 2) With any other Nvidia card besides the gtx590 you need SLI. Of course with the ATI equivalent Crossfire, you can easily plug in however many monitors the dual cards give you. Eyefinity is part of CCC. All you need to do is plug in your monitors correctly and the option will be in CCC for you to set it up and configure. You don't need to pay for anything else. 1
Jinja Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 WyNNTTr is correct, but for fear of complicating the thread, there are still situations when a TH2GO is still needed, especially once you decide to embrace stuff like Helios, and thus want to support 4 screens and more. I need both Eyefinity AND TH2GO for my setup; the nice thing about TH2GO is you're driving 3 screens but only using one DVI port on your graphics card. i7@3.5Ghz, ATI 5870, 16GB RAM, win7 64bit, TH2GO, Track-IR, 4screen pit, TM WArthog HOTAS

Not sure, but I think all >=HD5900 support at least 4 screens (HD5700/5800 mostly only 3). So OP should be able to run up to 4 screens with his 6750. BTW, new TH2GO is expensive as hell, costs ~220-230€ here (AT), which is about the same as HD6950. Maybe it is better to buy one more graphic card instead of TH2GO. Running them in SLI is another plus, in addition to having plenty of dvi/hdmi/dp outputs...
Succellus Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 There s also a software that does what 3hto does, its mentioned page 1 or 2 or input output sections. Going from memory (and correct me if I'm wrong) but I remember seeing 2xDVI, 2xmini-DP, 1 HDMI port at the back of my 6950 giving a total of 5 screens off the one card. Crossfire will only support up to a max of 6 screens though. I know I was running my 3 screen Eyefinity off the one 6950 for a while before I got the second 6950 for CF, but still the three monitors are plugged into the primary card so there's still a whole lot of ports to play with. I've been wanting to get an extra monitor just for Helios but don't have the desk real estate to do it.
