BrandonBP Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Hello all, I'm new and I'm stuck on the navigation training. I don't have a HOTAS stick so I've been using my MS Sidewinder + keyboard + mouse clicks on instruments. I get to a part of the NAV training that tells me to use the HOTAS slew control down (period key for me) to designate a new SPI point by slewing the TDC down towards the bottom of the HUD. That part works for me using the "." Then it says to designate the new SPI in front of the aircraft by using the HOTAS TMS UP command or L. CTRL + up arrow. When I try to use L.CTRL + up arrow, nothing happens. This makes the training mission stick in that spot. Anyone know what I may be doing wrong or what I should press instead of L.CTRL + Up Arrow to designate the new SPI? Thanks much. Enjoying myself so far!
BrandonBP Posted June 23, 2011 Author Posted June 23, 2011 Ok, after a mod moved this topic to this section I was able to find a solution below. The TDC needs to be at the very bottom of the HUD and almost out of sight before it works. Happy flying.
Merijn Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 I think the TDC can only create a new SPI withing 1.3 nm. Correct me if i'm wrong, didn't check the manual. My Rig: ASUS P8P67 - Intel I7 2600K 3.4 Ghz (not yet OC'ed) - GeForce GTX 560 - 8GB Ram - SSD 120 GB - HDD 2 X 500 GB - TIR 5 - Saitek X52 pro
