711Hancer Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 (edited) There is one important thing when entering the coordinates for the MGRS coordinate system given by the JTAC and your A/C first position on ground during alignment. "Whether the target is in 37T or 38T UTM gridzone." The longitude line on the below picture. For example if you takeoff from an airfield in UTM 38T gridzone (i.e SENAKI) and the targets are in 37T zone (i.e near the coast), you have to change your zone (LSK-3 one line above where you enter the coordinates) before entering the JTAC coordinates otherwise you get an error and/or a waypoint 900 miles away. To do this, simply type 37T in scratchpad and put it on LSK-3 one line above where you enter the coordinates. If the mission takes place in same gridzone you do not have to do this. Wichid Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 Good point 711Hancer. I remember finding this out on a single mission and being mighty confused. Recently I've been pretty lazy and just hook the data point on the TAD with a mark point and then find it with the TGP. I've had other flights roll in and destroy my targets whilst messing around the CDU. Grr stupid jets with their afterburners and fancy radars! Fakum Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 Got it so I can continue to add target coordinates,, but it is pretty annoying to rename as most know,,, when my next target gets named say TGT3,,, it changes to TGT4,,, in the stress of all the other thinking that has to be done,,, sure can forget real quick,,, "lets see,,, was that target 3 I just did or was it 2??? Hmmmmmmmm,,, GRRRRRRRrrrrrrrr,,,,, I know I will adjust,,, probably just in time for that next patch to revert it to how it should work? HAhahahaha,,, still the best sim ever!!!
