Hey guys,

After installing FC2 ive been getting this weird graphics issue, pixels slightly out of place in 2D menus, and the picture (especially the HUD and corners of the cockpit) looking not quite right. In the FC2 launcher everything looks fine, but from when the simulator starts up (including the loading screen) it happens again. Strangely firefox is getting the same issue, but chrome and other programs look fine. If I wait awhile it will fix itself, but the sim is always the same. Now it affects blackshark and a10c :helpsmilie: soooo annoying...

I have a HIS ATI 5870. Running 11.6 Catalyst. Windows 7 x64 I remember getting this issue 6 months ago, but it fixed itself and i never figured out why. It always happens if I install FC2 :/

I've turned all the ATI settings to max, and that helps ever so slightly but its still really distracting. Its hard to get a screenshot in game to demonstrate, but the firefox screenshot shows how its glitching.

I've played around with compatibility options, running as admin...

I've reinstalled different catalyst versions, run the windows 7 assessment again (the graphics card points went down 1.0), reinstalled directx july 2010 redist, blagh, don't know what else to do... anyone had a similar issue?

Go into your Catalyst Control Center and disable "Morphological filtering" should clear that problem up.

This might be an unuseful observation....

The HUD loading screen appears squashed from left to right when entering a game, but it looks fine when its loading the menus.

AA filter is set to Box.

My resolution is same as desktop 1650x1080, tried fullscreen and windowed. Same problem with different windowed resolutions, the hud loading image looks squashed.

Fixed it! Wooohooo!

iTunes was suffering the same problem. Using ATI Tray tools I disabled "Force Mip-map filter" and boom! Fixed.

What a pain in the ass. Can someone explain what that option actually does? I have no idea...

Mip-Mapping is a smoothig technique for textures, which works by havig different resoluted textures for the same object available and show different ones by viewing distance. "Force mipmap" will force the usage of mip-mapping for an application, I assume. Another assumption would be then that the HUD is scaled otherwise, but when mipmapping is force on, it triesy to use different textures for different view distances... but while there's only one available, this one is displayed boxed.

There's no "Overkill". There's only "open fire!" and "time to reload".
