Frogfoot1606687865
Hi, I am practising navigating using HARS, ILS and TACAN and have run into a problem. The only way I can get the HSI to show my heading and steering information is to decouple the compass transmitter from the HARS gyro (ie place HARS in DG mode). In this mode the HSI is operational, however when I set the HARS to use its default SLAVE mode (HARS gyro coupled to the remote compass transmitter) it is locked in a horizontal orientation and provides no steering information. I have tried with the EGI powered on/off, and all manner of configurations, but to no avail. An easy way to replicate the problem is to create a mission with a runway start and then select HARS from the NMSP, you will note the HSI points horizontally. If you change HARS from SLAVE to DG mode it will then work. I'm sure I have missed something obvious but this is driving me mad. Any help is appreciated.
