Demokrator Posted July 17, 2011 Author Posted July 17, 2011 Did he made it? An-24 airlines "Angara" splashed down in 63 kilometers from Nizhnevartovsk in the Ob River. On board the aircraft if the "Angara", carrying out flight-Surgut Tomsk were 33 passengers and four crew members. Seven people were killed, 21 passengers in hospital. The pilots decided to land on the water when the plane failed, and then turn on the left engine. All crew members, receive only minor injuries. Btw, at the moment of impact speed was 300 km/h.
Xeno426 Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 When was this? Any information on why it went down?
LARGE Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 it was few weeks ago. Left engine caught fire and they decided to land it on water.
aaron886 Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Wow, tough choice for the pilot. I hope he doesn't second guess himself.
power5 Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Not sure of all the circumstances but why land at 300km/h? Nose looks pretty unscathed for such a high speed crash landing.
