Can someone provide me and the rest of us on this forum, who are fairly new to this game, on where and how to install the mission files, or any type of files please?

I went on DCS website, into the download section to: user files, A-10C, missions files, and none of the people that creates the missions include with the mission file a read me file, or any type on info or worse proper direction, to get those files in the proper dirctory of the game or folder of the game.

Also when I open up the .rar file most of the solo mission include an option file and the mission file, and nothing else. But when I look at the file, by putting my mouse cursor over the file, it doesn't say .miz file like it does when I get to DCS directory missions folder from the game.

So how do we install the user create files, that we see on DCS website?Really pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee people include a read me file when uploading some of your missions or any type of files please for noobs, or people not pc wize like you people are. :helpsmilie: :helpsmilie: :helpsmilie: :helpsmilie: :helpsmilie:

Exemple of improper missions: AAR Night Practice Mission, and AAR Practice Mission. And there is more.

Thank you!

P-S. Again please include a read me file when uploading your missions or any type of files for newcomers.

Simply drop the entire .rar file in the relevant Saved Games/DCS Warthog/Missions folder. You do not open/unpack the .rar file.

For mods and other files, use Modman.

Viper I did what you told me. I pick exemple: AAR Night Practice mission, and placed the total folder, (.rar folder ) into saved games, missions, and when I click that mission, in My missions in the game the folder is empty.

The folder or the .rar folder doesnt include a .miz mission, thats why. Just downloaded a mission Greenzone-oo1 and this folder includes a .miz file.

BTW your trick doesnt work also. If I create a greenzone folder and copy it into the mission folder in saved games, I get the mission, If I place the .rar folder into same folder into the game, the .rar doesnt show up. Sorry but I have to create my own folder, and place all the files from the .rar folder, into my created folder, and then copy it to the My missions folder, and now it works.

Thank you!

if it has a "mission" and "options" file in it, it's not a rar, nor a zip. It's a miz. Some browsers will however rename files (I'm looking at you, Internet Exploder).

Just change it from rar to miz.

Install procedure for missions is simple:

Download the miz file.

Place it in the missions folder.

Open it within the game's mission interface.

If you were to supply a direct link to the file you have an issue with it would be easier to see what's wrong with it.

Is it this one?

If so, note that it's a miz. It's not a rar. It's a miz. If your browser saves it as a rar, your browser is doing something it shouldn't do. (Internet Exploder? I've seen it do exactly this before, renaming miz files to zip for no good reason at all.)

Just change the zip or rar to miz. It's your browser that's messing with you.

Yes it's that mission but the one for A-10C. Like I said other mission files works. I download the .rar file onto my computer, then I create a folder with exact name of the .rar, then I copy every files into my newly created mission folder and then I paste it, into the My missions folder of the game and now it works.

If I copy and paste the .rar folder or .zip folder into the My misions folder from the game, the mission doesn't appear simple has that. I have to create my own folder and paste all the files from th .rar or .zip folder, and then paste it into My Mission flder from the game.

BTW just went back from the game, and not only the AAR Night Practice but also BFT07 mission don't work. I have rename inside the folder of AAR and BFT07 the mission file to mission.miz and when I click on mission into the game, it brings me back to control panel of the game. When I click on greenzone-001 mission, that mission works.

My conclusion is that some of the missions weren't done correctly. Why you ask me? Well all of the mission .rar folders that regroups a.miz file, when I place them into saved game of DCS and then go into the game my missions folder, they all works perfectly. All of the other .rar folder including a mission file without the extension .miz do not work, simple has that.

Thank you!
