theghost Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I understand that JTAC forces can not select AND Designate static targets, Is there a way During the mission TO Pass a written message ON static target location TO bombing? Or anything that let me know the location of the static target The 147 Squadron commander "The Goring Ram"
Druid_ Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Use triggers ONCE whateverdescription TIME MORE THAN timeInSeconds MESSAGE TO ALL yourMessage e.g. HAWG11 target assignment: Ammo Dump at LatLong etc... 'TIME MORE THAN' is a condition which you can change to anyhting of your choosing e.g. GROUP DEAD firstTaskGroup i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q

Apologetic It's not clear to me,I'm pretty new and trying to understand the mission editor "TIME MORE THAN' is a condition which you can change to anyhting of your choosing e.g. GROUP DEAD firstTaskGroup" It's not clear to me :( The 147 Squadron commander "The Goring Ram"
dooom Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 To put a L/L into CDU you have to create a new steerpoint. This is how i wrtie all my missions (with variations of the trigger mentioned above). That said - look at the Wikis for DCS for lots of info on how to find targets. WarriorX has this great pdf explaining it as well. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1129615&postcount=3 enjoy ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL

To find the L/L of your target when working in the editor, just put your mouse over the target and look at the bottom taskbar - it always shows the mouses' lat/long. then use those coordinates in your trigger. EXAMPLE: ONCE (NO EVENT) PART OF COALITION INSIDE ZONE [you can use any type of condition that makes sense to you here] MESSAGE TO ALL (Enfield 1-1, this is Overlord - CIA operatives are reporting a concentration of forces in a farmhouse coordinates 42*832'34"N / 43*3'25"E. Recon and destroy. ** remember to set the display time to at least 45 seconds to allow player to copy data to datacard or CDU. nomdeplume Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Also note that in 1.1.0.9 you have a new options in the, er, options screen, to select the format of coordinates used in the mission editor. At least, I think it affects the mission editor (and maybe in-game F10 map, too) - haven't tried it yet. But I think that's its purpose. It can be set to show MGRS grid or lat long in decimal format (i.e. the same format the CDU expects), which might make it more convenient to provide coordinates when you're creating a mission.
