AceStarOne Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Hi, i am an absolutly newbie to this amazing game and after some training I tried to play the campaign. What I did not understand is how can I use the SEAD to destroy the SAM stations or do they make it by themself? Must I give them some orders via radio? Thank you for you help in advance.
toby23 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Use the radio to contact OTHER (F10) Then from the menu, select SEAD. They will only be available once you are heading towards your target area. You can also contact CAS (ground targets) and CAP (air targets) from this menu, when available. Ryzen 5800X, 32GB RAM, RTX 3060
AceStarOne Posted August 8, 2011 Author Posted August 8, 2011 Thank you very much, I will try this. I only tested pushing F10 on the ground before take off without getting further options, I think that was my fault.
KKR75 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 I assume you're playing the Georgian Hammer campaign. Yes, the F10 options will only be populated with entries when you are in the air, usually once you pass waypoint 2 or a little bit before it. Basically, if you look at the mission(s) in the editor, there's a hidden COMMS trigger zone that sets up the F10 entries once your plane flies through that zone.
toby23 Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Ace, if you're going to take on the campaign, make sure you know how to: 1. Orbit around a waypoint whilst contacting JTAC for targets 2. Hook/ Remove a target from JTAC on the TAD 3. Enter JTAC coordinates into the CDU 4. Mark points and find them again There are also some excellent tutorials on YouTube from these guys... AceStarOne Posted August 8, 2011 Author Posted August 8, 2011 Thank you again for all you help. Its much stuff to learn but also a lot of fun. I think I will have a lot more questions coming up. @toby23: I will take a look to the tutorials. I already received some data from the JTAC and finaly I received an transmission from the JTAC an an red triangle on my TAD. This are the coordinates of the enemy the JTAC speaking about right?

Press TMS LEFT short to clear the message, press the corresponding OSB next to "WILCO" on the TAD, then hook the red triangle on the TAD by moving the green cursor up to it and pressing TMS UP short, then set this hooked object as SPI by pressing TMS UP long. You can then slew the TGP to that object using CHINA FWD long.
Drooper Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 (edited) they told me its best to call in sead asap when available to clear any aa threats.. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=78036 Edited August 8, 2011 by Drooper
AceStarOne Posted August 8, 2011 Author Posted August 8, 2011 Thanks again for your informations and tutorial links. Very usefull. The SEAD now works for me but now I have a new question. The AWACS and SEAD give informations via radio for example "..... 160 of 20". Not sure if the numbers are right but what exactly are the meaning of that numbers.
