hecrowell Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 First, I apologize if this has been asked before, but I am concerned about my framerates in LOFC2 Multiplayer. I am using the VSB ct113 Tutor Mod. Here is my system specs: Processor1 Intel® Core™i7 processor (up to 1333 MHz FSB) 920@ 2.67 GHz Chipset Intel® X58 Express Chipset Memory1 Up to 12 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz SDRAM (triple-channel support on six DIMMs) - I have 12GB Installed Hard Drive1 Serial ATA hard disk up to 1 TB Graphics Discrete card support for high-end NVIDIA® and ATI™ graphics cards - I have Nvidia GeForce GTX260 with 270.61 driver installed Microsoft® DirectX® 10 support - installed PCI Express® 2.0 x16 graphics card support Embedded high-definition audio with 7.1-channel surround sound support Add-In Card Slots Two PCI Express 2.0 ×16 One PCI Express 2.0 ×4 One PCI Express 2.0 ×1 Power Supply 750 or 1000 watt BIOS AMI PnP BIOS compatible with SMBIOS 2.6 HP L2445 24" LCD monitor I have the graphics cranked down, water texture minimum and I cannot achieve any more than 26FPS no matter what I do. Doesn't matter if I am looking at the ground, sky or if I am at 15K + feet or at 2 feet. I have also resorted to a few tweaks to the .cfg file found on the internet. Most of the other pilots that I fly with are enjoying framerates of 80+. Surely this system of mine is capable of better framerates. Any help appreciated
rattler Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Well the system looks Ok. FC2 is CPU heavy rather than graphics card. 2.67 might be your problem. Sustained frame rates around 30 is quite acceptable. It may also be the server you are on in multiplayer. Some of the members who play on the servers may be able to answer that question.:)
aaron886 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 (edited) Yeah unfortunately, FC2 still only uses 2 of your cores, and only 1 to run the sim and visuals. I would think you should be having better luck than that though, with graphics turned down! You might try updating your graphics drivers? I'm at somewhat of a loss here... If you'd like, you can ship me your computer, and I'll send you mine. :D I get 30-40 FPS in most situations with medium graphics. (I wouldn't mind having an i7...) Edited August 12, 2011 by aaron886
Cali Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Weird problem, my computer is way older then yours and I get 20-30 on the ground and 30+ in the air easily, mostly 40+ in the air. I don't use heat blur, mirrors, cockpit res set at 512, vis range is on med at 1920x1200 resolution. Do you have other stuff running in the background? i7-4820k @ 3.7, Windows 7 64-bit, 16GB 1866mhz EVGA GTX 970 2GB, 256GB SSD, 500GB WD, TM Warthog, TM Cougar MFD's, Saitek Combat Pedals, TrackIR 5, G15 keyboard, 55" 4K LED
EtherealN Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I'm wondering if the mod changed the MaxFPS value in graphics.cfg? Line 426 in FC2\Config\graphics.cfg. manfrez01 Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Your system seems optimal for FC2, but a bad configuration can be catastrophic, see if your HD disk is not a western digital caviar green 1T (I hope not) these models have important implications and poor performance  [sIGPIC]http://img528.imageshack.us/img528/7877/72368977.jpg[/sIGPIC]
EtherealN Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Depends on what you compare it to. My WD Caviar Green 1TB outperforms my previous Caviar Black (the 640GB version). I know, because I benchmarked them on the same machine, with the same app. :P That said, he's talking about FPS. I'm not sure how you mean the HDD might ever affect that? EtherealN Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Topic: FPS. Your topic: Hard drives. The two topics: not the same. Google translate: Not necessary. As I said: I speak spanish. I skimmed your link and established that it was irrelevant to the topic. 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
