So have you every been to see a movie and when you came out of the cinema door you couldn’t wait to see the sequel because it was that good!

Then went you came out of the squeal you were really disappointed! So disappointed that you wish you had not wasted your time and money.

Well that how I feel about LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2 Absolute Rubbish…. Graphics better but missions are pointless. You fly around for half an hour looking for some action. Scouring the radar looking for the enemy and contacting the AWAC for vector to nearest bandit and get NO reply. Then suddenly there a BANG, followed by Engine failure, Radar failure etc etc etc…. As you have been shot down by some undetectable enemy.

Just de-installed it…..

If you have it then stick with LockOn 1.02 and to avoided disappointment by staying away from Flaming Cliffs 2

You need more airtime.

"You fly around for half an hour looking for some action."

Welcome to the life of a fighter pilot. Though, of course, unless it's a scramble that pilot might very well have spent an hour or three in briefings, and then flown for an hour or two to even get to the AO...

"contacting the AWAC for vector to nearest bandit and get NO reply"

So the AWACs didn't see anyone. They're not gods, you know. ;)

"As you have been shot down by some undetectable enemy."

I'd be prepared to bet you this month's salary (which I can't though, since gambling is illegal in a lot of places :P ) that the enemy wasn't "undetectable". The enemy was just undetected. There is a HUGE difference between the two, and even weapons designed for precisely that type of attack - a suchoi or mig coming in through the valleys (defeating any AWACS attempt to find them), with radar off (EMCON), then locking you up on IRST (which is silent, no warning), and launching an R-27T or ET in your face.

Such is life. You have to build a good SA and be aware of all possible threat avenues. When I actively flew 15's online I was always very very careful about flying over the mountains on the georgian-russian border because those mountains offered a LOT of opportunities for skilled mig and suchoi pilots to plink me without me ever knowing they were there. (Hell, see my "Location"... I learned that the hard way. :D )

So to me, it sounds like you just got hit by the fact that FC2 introduced a lot of improvements in the area known as "realism". ;)
