arcavasion Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 After countless hours figuring out the weapons systems, using only the dumb downed simple communications, I think I am ready for some multiplayer. The forum here does not seem real active, and I did see one group who had a website pheonix 104th; but aside from that, do you just join a server listed? What do most people use? Servman, teamspeak, ventrillo? Is there a twitter group or some other way to announce organized missions? I have never even logged into the multiplayer mode, so probably it is easy and active, but I am at work so cant check it out. Applogize in advance if thats the case, but I thought I would ask a few questions in the meantime. By the way, love this sim. I have not had such an immersive experience since the days of falcon 4 and Aerowinx 747. Thanks
Guest Fury_007 Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 I had the same questions/concerns. I logged into one server which luckily just started so the three other pilots were on the ramp starting their jets. They all had team speak and shared the server + log in password info as soon as I asked using multiplayer chat. Had a fun time. I think the server name was ugly or something like that. 2nd time was a dragon weapons training server with 8 pilots on it. Nobody was on team speak and nobody was chatting. It got boring quick. So only 2 multiplayer attempts. Those were my results. I'm looking to play more multiplayer.
Eddie Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 If you want to take your MP a bit further and plan on doing it regularly, I'd highly recommend joining a Squad/VFW. MP is a very different experience when you know the guys you're flying with.
112th_Rossi Posted August 18, 2011 Posted August 18, 2011 Joining a server is no different from starting a single player game really. If its an unpassworded server, join it, read the briefing and fly with your fellow pilots. It's a great way to meet new pilots and even learn a thing or two from them. Most people are friendly. You can choose to join the servers Teamspeak if you wish, but for me, I prefer to get to know people via the text chat first. You can usually find me on the GoingUgly server or the 74th Flying Tygers server (which I havent been on for a while, but will rectify that later). Feel free to add me on Steam if you have it and we'll go for a flight.
