DTWD Posted August 21, 2011 Posted August 21, 2011 As the title says, which screens are people mainly using? The computer shops I usually buy from don't stock any touch screens (have they...excuse the pun, not "taken off"?) so I have not seen much of them. Any advice on what people use, the specifications and the shortfalls etc would be helpful. Also I am thinking of going for more than one screen for Helios, but due to wanting one in the middle and to be even I am thinking 3. Are there enough features in helios to warrant this? Also what kind of fps hit would that likely make? An alternative would be to run the main display + another for Helios and mfd export, then Helios on a different pc for the 2 monitors. Is this do-able? Everything I read seems to say so. This might be especially attractive if the fps hit is high. Regards [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
metalnwood Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I am using the 22.5" HP touchscreen. No problems as all. The only thing which may be an issue is that it works by locaint your fingers shadow so it will get put off if you hang stuff like the TM MFD's on it. Not an issue for me as I use the helios mfd's. It's more practical that way because when you bring up another screen of controls you can then use that area for other stuff.
Loz Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 You can see from my Sig that I use an HP2310ti, which I am very happy with. It's very reflective which is a bit of a contrast to my main Eyefinity Dell monitors, but they are exceptional quality. (and exceptional price to match LOL) My setup is shown here if it's of any help to you. Also gives you a good idea of Helios in use. By the way there is generally no need to run helios on a second computer, as it's overhead is very small. i9 9900x at 5.1 Ghz // ASUS ROG Maximus XI Formula EK Bloc // 64Gb Corsair Vengence 3600Mhz DDR4 Ram // Gigabyte Aorus 3090 Watercooled block//Samsung SM951 M2 x4 SSD // Windows 10 64 Bit //48inch LG48 @ 3840x2160 120Hz//Asus ROG Swift PG35VQ 3440 x 14440 144Hz // TM Warthog HOTAS (Ser. blaster454 Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I'm using the new Acer T231H and it's working very well. It has two side fixed legs and a center back leg that allows easy angle adjustment ... mine is set to about 15 degrees. The screen is reflective but careful angular position and control of back lights should help. I am using Cap Loz's profile and it is beautiful in high res.
