Terrorvogel Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Hi, does someone know in which .lua this is changeable? I don´t want to switch to "1024 every frame" because i like to let the MFD´s at 512 (which looks more real in my opinion and gets best fps ). Hope the MFD´s and mirrors are not linked together which would be stupid... miguelaco Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Well, AFAIK they are linked. I have mirrors turned off too for this reason. Decoupling these two settings sounds very reasonable to me.
Terrorvogel Posted September 2, 2011 Author Posted September 2, 2011 Is there some technical background for this "linking"? Hope there will be a solution to seperate this in future... You might want to do actual benchmarking (measuring) instead of just thinking ;) (I know it's not WH) http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1032377&postcount=94 It's generally a good idea to read that topic through and through. EtherealN Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I'm not 100% sure, but I believe they are linked since they are both technically speaking displays as far as the code is concerned - that is, they use the display routines. (In as far as rendering technique goes, the mirrors aren't reflectors, they're a display linked to a camera that's looking rearwards.) As for why it is like that, I don't know with certainty. There probably is some technical reason in how the graphics engine is architectured. Is there some technical background for this "linking"? Hope there will be a solution to seperate this in future... The main reason for the low resolution at the MFD´s is that i more like the blurred image so it´s harder to recognize targets. I´ll bet that real TGP view is not as crystal clear as with "1024 every frame" setting. And even not so, i like it more... So i sadly must decide for blurry mirrors too. Nevertheless thank you for this link. It´s very interesting measuring the performance differences between theese settings.
