ANGST Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 I have been playing the heck out of FC2 lately , to be honest it is the right amount of fidelity for my life. I need a "medium-core" sim that I can fire up and plug away at for an hour or so and get maybe 2 missions in. It's unfortunately all I have time for. I am playing some Black Shark as well , I actually love the switch flipping, but by the time the Helo is ready for action I need to shut down and deal with real life. :( . I'd love just FC2 with a new plane or 2 (F/A-18C , and MiG-27 ;) ) and some new ground units and a new theater or 2 . Not trying to say they is something ED "NEEDS" to do or I demand them to do, just a comment on what type of simmer I am these days.
EtherealN Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Sorry for the question, but regarding Black Shark - starting it takes only roughly 2 minutes, if that. I think the problem regarding time might be more about the slow speed of it rather than anything related to the "switch flipping"? Yep, no track IR , also I am talking about targeting and setting up the weapons and things as well. No doubt with practice I will get it down. Maybe A-10 and BS need a "save feature" so I can save the game in the middle of a mission and pick it up a few days later.
RIPTIDE Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Not sure what peoples real desires for FC3.0 are. But for me it is the upgrade of FC2.0 to the DCS:A10C world. And the compatibility of both DCS titles plus FC2.0 flyables. That will do me until DCS: 'Murikan Fast Jet. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

RIPTIDE Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 (edited) What!? I thought you loved GehTenSee and don't need anything else :megalol: I never bought Ka-50 until the day the compatibility patch came out. And I'll buy Gheytensee when it happens this time. The rest of the squad haven't bullied me sufficiently yet neither, probably because I can turn around and berate them for been "propeller fags" (cliffs of Dover) :D You know it goes like this: ' Wow this new patch for Cl. For that matter, I can get the A-10C from cold ramp start to airborne in less than 2 and a half minutes if I throw out the checklist. Even if that was a problem, you can fly a mission that starts out with you already in the air right by the combat zone. The problem many people have is with the hours it takes to learn how to effectively use a DCS standard aircraft, not the time it takes to flip switches (which can mostly be done in flight between waypoints anyway). Yes, that's more what I mean I think  In Rise of Flight for instance I just set up a QM and go at it for 20 min at a time or so. I miss the FBP like we had in LOMAC ;)
Grimes Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Worth saying multiple times: The A-10C mission editor alone would be a great update to FC2. riboyster Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Yup I'm down. I think it would be totally cool to have several new jets, even with basic flight models. The nav and targeting gear could be just as detailed as it is in all other FC aircraft and it would be super fun. However, I do agree with everyone else. You need to work on your switch flipping man. I can usually get my shark in the air while the hud's still warming up in around the same amount of time it takes me to get up in FC :) -SnakeShit [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Peace through Superior Firepower EVERYTHING YOU'LL EVER NEED FOR LOMAC: http://flankertraining.com/ironhand/news.html

aaron886 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 You need to work on your switch flipping man. He may not care to... that's kind of the point, isn't it? Some people aren't going to want to devote attention to the anal switch-flipping, for whatever personal reason that may be. (Maybe they operate too many switches during their work-day to begin with. :D)
