How do RL A10 pilots 'aim' at the refueling boom?

I'm guessing (as in this sim) they can't really see the refueling hole from their cockpits so they have to use their intuition or something in order to guide/connect the boom towards it OR do they simply position themselves near enough and then let the tanker guy finish the job?

They move into position and let the boom operator do his job. At least with the boom system used by the USAF.
