REL Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 Hey Can't get those two to work together ... anybody try that combination?
Grimes Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 If mission start triggers are having an issue, simply create a trigger that states, once> time more 1> Add radio item. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Druid_ Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I can confirm, radio items only work (i.e get added) when the mission is unpaused. Grimes' solution is spot on. i7-7700K : 16Gb DDR4 2800 Mhz : Asus Mobo : 2TB HDD : Intel 520 SSD 240gb : RTX 2080ti: Win10 64pro : Dx10 : TrackiR4 : TM Warthog : ASUS ROG SWIFT PG348Q
JEFX Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This is very true and as a matter of fact, it is usually advisable to add things incrementally or gradually and not everything at the same exact moment at the start of a mission. (especially to take into consideration those who have older machines...) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust... In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D
Speed Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 (edited) This is very true and as a matter of fact, it is usually advisable to add things incrementally or gradually and not everything at the same exact moment at the start of a mission. (especially to take into consideration those who have older machines...) While you can almost never be overcautious when programming or scripting something simple, in this particular case it doesn't have anything to do with how fast or slow your machine is. The deal is that the mission start event occurs before everything has been fully initialized. If you aren't in the cockpit at the time, apparently the ADD RADIO ITEM trigger action gets ignored, and at mission start, apparently you haven't even been intialized and placed in the cockpit yet. While there are many trigger actions that work fine at mission start (such as AI off or group activate/deactivate), you have to be careful with others, such as ADD RADIO ITEM and Lua scripts (I can remember coming across a couple more, but not which ones right off hand). As Grimes said, when in doubt, just use Once->Time More(1)->(Action). It gives the sim time to initialize everything.
