How can I get Nevada

I'm sure this has been asked many times but after 5 minutes of searching the posts I couldn't find my answer. How do I get a Nevada map to show up? I try to set up a quick mission and for the life of me can't see Nevada or Nellis AFB venue. What am I missing? I see so many videos of guys flying in the Nevada map. The reason why I want to fly Nevada so bad was a few months ago I was out golfing on a course in Nevada called "The Paiute" and 5 A-10s buzzed us at about 300 ft off the deck in Echelon formation, right down the 13th Fairway! Ever since then I'm obsessed with getting the Nevada Map but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Nevada was removed during the open beta because it simply wouldn't make the deadline. It has since developed into a project that goes above and beyond the original scope (using the new EDGE engine, for example), but due to this it is not present in release code. It will be released as a separate download later (When it's done™).

 

There are people who mod their release install to transplant the beta map into 1.1.0.9. This is not supported and results may vary, check the mod section.

Now THERE is a good idea.

 

I held onto the last beta before it got the axe, but rarely fly it, as it CTD's a lot.

 

Understandable, it was a beta, but cobbling it into a newer version would rock, as we

wait for the over-the-top new version.

 

Where is this mods area you speak of?

I've not used them myself, only heard of people doing it. I wouldn't guarantee stability there though - if the error causing the crashes were something in Nevada itself (and there were issues with that), it would probably still manifest when transplanting the code, not to forget possible new issues from the fact that the beta nevada code would be "out of sync" with new code. As said: results may vary. ;)

 

Unfortunately I can't say where to get the mods - I don't know. I suspect people have just done some sort of copy-paste job on it.

My first attempt failed miserably, so I just went in and through my controls and

tried the skins on the last beta that had Nellis.

 

Have you guys come a long way since then!

 

And then I went and checked Wags update shots on Nevada.

 

Double-whoa!

 

I think I may just hold off on the cobble-up, and fly over the gorgeous terrain

when it becomes available...

Looks awesome. I will buy it for sure. Shame I didn't get the beta, I played BlackShark and then got A-10C after it was released.

 

I'm also keen for DLC: Afghanistan.
