dooom Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Hi, I'd like to create a HELIOS panel for my 10"iMO... because 99% of my flying in online, i do not want to use an interface as it requires export.lua access. That said, I am pulling my hair out on how to bind a simple keyboard output to a HELIOS button. Please if anyone could give a guy a hand here... my dyslexic mind is really struggling with the HELIOS user guide in this regard. Here's what I do: 1 I created my CDU for the 10" and positioned all bttons on monitor #2 2 Click on "SYS" button of CDU to create binding. 3 goto OUTPUT Action window>INTERFACE>Send Keys to setup binding for foreground window (application) 4 Drag Keyboard "Send Keys" from interface to "Pushed" under "bindings" 5 Enter " {LALT}{RALT}' " as a static value. ... and it doesn't work. Am I doing something wrong? Any help out there? thanks! Gadroc Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 That should be correct. As a quick test just create the binding for as "a" so it types just a plane a. Then open notepad in the foreground and click your button. That is the easiest to test if Helios is sending keys. A possible problem is if you are running DCS as admin but not Helios. In that case DCS will ignore keyboard input from Helios. Try running Helios as an admin. 2
dooom Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 Thank you Gadroc... It really is criminal that you do not have more rep power than you do. You are a great asset to the community. I wasnt running helios as admin... will try that now. dooom Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011 just ran control center as admin and fired up my test CDU... nothing from that SYS button yet. Is my binding code correct for lalt, ralt,' as {LALT}{RALT}' also - the control centre itself is always displayed on top of dcs so i hit the pwr switch to minimize it... could that be screwing me up? dooom Posted October 18, 2011 Author Posted October 18, 2011  ... i was misreading the tilde key for apostrophe .. i needed {RALT}{LALT}` not {RALT}{LALT}' 3 pixels makes a huge difference. thanks again Gadroc. :music_whistling: ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL

THANK YOU All night I've been pulling my hair out because I could get notepad to see the key presses but not my game! Arrggh! Never twigged that the game was running in Admin mode. You have just fixed my problems! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
FSFIan Posted December 11, 2014 Posted December 11, 2014 because 99% of my flying in online, i do not want to use an interface as it requires export.lua access. What has flying online to do with Export.lua? My touchscreen Helios profile works perfectly fine in multiplayer. (Unless something has changed, I have not flown for a few weeks.)
