Ronnie33 Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Hi, Problem Description: After replacing my memory with 4 Gb of RAM, I thought of firing up Blackshark again after some pausing. The first thing that happened was a activation process start since the hardware was changed (yes, even with memory change only). After this the Launcher came with 'Launcher.exe stopped working'. Then I tried MP but that didn't wanted to start as well. Yesterday I searched every corner of the web for a solution and tried a lot of them as well. - I did vanilla install and then patch of 1.0.2 > no joy. - I tried activating and de-activating the application with uninstall with REVO so anything of ED was taken from the registry > no joy. - I tried several drifferent ATI drivers (8.12 to 11.9), uninstall with driversweeper every time for the ATI drivers> no joy. - I tried CatalystAI disable > no joy. - I updated every driver > no joy. - UAC is disabled and all installs were made as 'run as administrator' PC configuration: - i5 2.67 running at 4.0 OC - Gigabyte p55-UD4 - 8 GB OCZ DDR3 OCZ3P1333LV4GK - Gigabyte ATI HD 5850, driver Version 8.892.0.0 - Samsung HD103SJ DVD drive - Internet is wireless 802.11g and good signal strength - Logitech G940 and Saitek wheel are connected - Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium + Service Pack 1 - DirectX version 11. - TrackIR5 and Logitech 5.1 speaker set. - No problems with any of the other applications (FSX, F1 2010, F1 2011) I have attached printscreens, event viewer screen and Blackshark crash reports to this message. The sim did run absolutely fine (SP and MP) before the memory upgrade. I suspect that something is wrong with Starforce protection since the event viewer flagged protect.dll when MP didn't start and I do not see a lot of 'launcher.exe stopped working' errors together with MP fail to start. Also the launcher.exe error was common in 2009 when the catalyst was upgraded to 9.2 but I do not see any problems with the 11.1 to 11.9 versions. I hope you can give some advice to get this nice sim flying again.Printscreens of desktop.zipDXdiag report + event viewer reports.zipMP crash report.zip
159th_Viper Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Uninstall, manually remove all leftover folders and manually delete the registry entry relevant to Black Shark. Install and activate again. You will lose an activation - this is however unavoidable with SF related errors. Your activation history will however reflect your lack of fault when it comes to the spent activation if and when the need arises to replenish said activations. Ronnie33 Posted October 22, 2011 Author Posted October 22, 2011 Hi, I already did uninstall, manually deleting all directories, deleting all registry entries of Blackshark, reboot, install 1.0, reboot, install 1.0.2, reboot, activated for MP application and straight away after activation done I will get the MP fault. Started SP application where I get straight away 'launcher.exe stopped working'. All done with UAC disabled and 'run as administrator'. I have done this 2 times but still the same faults are returning for both MP and SP applications. The game is boxed with DCS Blackshark 1.0 English. Thanks for the advice though, keep them coming....
Ronnie33 Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 Hi, The problem is solved. My Saitek 4-in-1 Wheel was making all the trouble. When I disconnect the device for the USB hub the game started both in SP and in MP. Nice to be flying again.
