JACN Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Is LO1.1 having any benefit from SLI cards?. If not, will Black-Shark support it?. BTW, you guys having dual 7800gtx which are your avg. fps and graphic configs?
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 i cant get sli to work with lomac ? but my avg fps is 60-75 with vsync on, 75 = refresh rate of my monitor and with vsync off i can get 100+ fps with 1 7800, but as soon as i go back into cockpit i get 60-70 odd with vsync on or off, highest settings for everything. so vsync on doesnt really affect performance as its roughly same fps as it is with it off, thats is when in cockpit, but outside views with vsync off the fps go over 140, all depends on the actual angle you are viewing the AC at, but its a steady 90-100 over ground near cities i get 30-40ish in cockpit.. 8sxaa 16xaf game set to highest graphical settings

BTW, you guys having dual 7800gtx which are your avg. fps and graphic configs? Yea, SLI works fine in LOMAC! The new feature are "SLI antialiasing". You must play it in high resolutions: 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 ! See this Benchmark for LOMAC: http://firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_7800_gtx/page16.asp I can now playing LOMAC in the "High" Settings under 1600x1200 32bit resolutions with 30-50FPS ! Settings: Graphics: Textures = High Scenes = High Terrain Preload = 100 Km Water = Medium Haze = Advanced Light = All Visibility Range = Medium Effects = High Heat Blur = On Shadows = Active Planar Colour = 32 bits Resolution = 1600x1200 Cockpit: Mirrors = off Reflections = On Regards Viper Best Regards Viper System: Intel Core i7-4790, 3,6GHz, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB GDDR5, TM HOTAS Warthog;(MSFFB2 for testing); TrackIR4 +Track Clip Pro; Windows 10 Pro.
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 weird, everything ive tried, and still when sli enabled it loads the map and then black screen ?, only game it does it in, but apart from that i got same settings as you except water = highest, visibilty range = high and in cockpit with vsync on = 60-75, without vysnc its roughly the same,, outside of cockpit i get with vsync disabled 100+ depending on angle of view and with vysnc enabled for outside views its roughly 100 fps, also depending on angle of view and when flying low over cities it still takes a kick and gives me 30-40ish, i even seen it got down to high 20s when flying over cities... 1280x1024 and 1024x768... viper did you have problems gettin sli to work with lomac, as when i tried numerous times, it always gave me blackscreen just after loading the map, i just took it as given that sli wouldnt work with lomac ? and did it work first time for you with no problems?

Sorry, I did have never problems. You need to put "coolbist2" to which Registrie file. Then you can activate the Lock On profile with SLI anti-aliasing and set it to SLI8x. I not use vsync for my TFT monitor. aimmaverick Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 EVIL-SCOTSMAN do you also have mirrors set to HIGH and what are your FPS when flying over very large cities with all settings maxed out? Do you ever get under 25FPS?
Guest POWhels Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 Hey evil Scottsman, I'm not sure if I can help. I have a diff mobo but do you have a SLI chip on your mobo that has to be activated before you can engage the dual sli mode in windows? Just a thought.
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted September 2, 2005 Posted September 2, 2005 25+ would be a reasonable fps when flying over cities, the lowest ive seen it fall to is 28 and that was over a big city, that lasted for a second or 2 then went back upto 30-40, which is normal for flying over cities for me. Maybe if i didnt have 8sxAA and 16xAF on i would get higher but i keep forgetting to change it before starting a game. POWhels, yes i have the dual video card selector card inserted properly into the mobo, as all my other games it works with except lomac for some reason, but looking at the benchmarks posted by viper, the fps increase with sli enabled is negligible with lomac and so its no big deal that it dont want to work.... i forgot to add that mirrors is off, they are set to high but they are off and only come on when i need to see behind me for a split second....
wolf8218 Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 i have 2 systems one is a 3.73 HT EE p4 with 2 X800XT in crossfire config. the other is an FX-55 computer with 2 7800GTx in SLI config. both of these run fine but i noted that the improvement is greater with ATI cards in crossfire than the nVidia cards in SLI.
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted September 3, 2005 Posted September 3, 2005 that would be great if crossfire was even released yet.....

LOL thats fantastic, how come you can get crossfire when: No one else can, and it hasn't been released???

Basically i think SLI is working fine you. remember that lockon loves CPU over anything else and as dual core wouldn't be that benifitial for lockon (yet) the results your getting seem fine. Especially with 8aa 16af!!! If your settings are maxed out and the lowest you get down to is 28fps i would be over the moon! Try running at 1600*1200 with 4aa 16af. you probably wont notice the image quality difference but it would look just amazing. Also it would stress the GPU's more at this res rather than the CPU. I find anything above 20fps is fine anyways. so 30-40 on average would be great. most people would envy your system. Go have fun. cheers
